K-pop (an abbreviation of Korean pop or Korean popular music) is a musical genre consisting of electronic, hip hop, pop, rock, and R&B music originating in South Korea. In addition to music, K-pop has grown into a popular subculture among teenagers and young adults throughout Asia, resulting in widespread interest in the fashion and style of Korean idol groups and singer.
In the South Korea itself, K-Pop is a diplomacy used the government to improve the economy of the country, so K-pop makes the South Korea into influential in terms of the culture in the world.

Korea can also take advantage of the K-Pop in the target countries in East Asia. In the countries where the K-pop are widely welcomed, the Korean government may try to spread Korean ways of living so that the consumers of the target countries can habitually consume Korean culture, goods, and services. This can be done by the influence of Korean celebrities, or deliberate efforts of the government to spread Korean standards, culture, and brands.
